Julie Sawyer is the owner and operator of Tuff Girl Bootcamps and Charlotte Corporate Wellness. She is a certified personal trainer (ACE, APPT, IYCA) and a group fitness instructor with a versatile, athletic background. She is the Fitness Director at The Palisades Country Club, where she has offered unique, innovative fitness programs over the past three and a half years.

She was recently recognized by leaders of the Association of Professional Personal Trainers as one of the country's up-and-coming trainers in the bootcamp industry. Sawyer will be inducted into the York County Hall of Fame for her tennis career this May and has recently joined the Inaugural Charlotte Women's Pro League. Some of her current programs include the Tuff Girl Bootcamps, Youth Sports Performance, Teen Fitchics, cutting-edge Tennis Bootcamps, and a one-of-a-kind tennis fitness class called CourtFit with the legendary Susan Love. She has also been involved in training young, advanced tennis players in the American Tennis Academy at The Palisades. Julie launched Charlotte’s first-ever cutting-edge Fitness-4-Tennis Program at Olympic High School for OHS tennis stand-outs this past summer in June 2009.

Julie was a successful tennis teaching professional for years after finishing her career as a collegiate, nationally ranked tennis player. She also has competitive experience in basketball, softball, and track as well as running and cycling as her hobbies.

Julie is a stellar player and is an accomplished junior player in SC history. As a junior, she was named SC Player of the Year and SC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Year (twice) and won over 15 state championships in a period of 5 years, including 3 SC High School State Championships (A-AAAA, which has never been matched). She was a 4-time starter at Clemson University and was named Team Captain, Most Improved, and ACC Athlete of the Week during her career.

However, Julie’s pride and joy are not the tons of trophies that she accumulated over the years, it’s her three kids! (12, 10, and 8).
